His works helped in bringing back traditional theater in Nigeria alive during the mid-twentieth century. Ladipo was one of the play writers who only wrote in Yuroba language, haven captivated the symbolic spirit of Yuroba mythologies in his plays. Duro-Ladipo was a Nigerian actor and a playwright born in to Nigerian parents. He was born in the defunct Western Region of Nigeria 85 years ago on the 18th of December to a clergyman.
His interest in theater works was said to have been influenced by his grandfather who was into Yuroba mythology especially those from old Oyo. Duro became a teacher in s at the Holy Trinity School, Ilesha after he attended a missionary school.
